Following the publication from the National Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel, in April 2026, of a thematic analysis into child neglect, the LSCP has produced a short video series to help understand approaches to identify, assess and respond to neglect in Lambeth.

1. An introduction to child neglect: including the definition of neglect, ways which children’s needs can be neglected, indicators and risk factors and the impact of neglect.
2. Why did it take so long to respond: an overview of the complex issues surrounding neglect and how these can lead to gaps in practice, based on the thematic analysis of neglect published by the National Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel in April 2026.
3. An introduction to the LSCP Neglect Strategy and Toolkit: an overview of Lambeth’s approach to identifying, assessing and responding to neglect.
