LSCP Anti-Racist Charter
The Lambeth Safeguarding Children Partnership (LSCP) are pleased to share our Anti-Racist Charter 2025, a multi-agency framework designed to tackle racism as a critical safeguarding issue and to promote the welfare of all children in our community.
This Charter sets out clear expectations for leaders and practitioners, aiming to embed active anti-racism into every aspect of our safeguarding practice.
Key highlights from the Charter include:
- A zero-tolerance approach to racism, with a commitment to eradicating its impact on children, families, and our workforce.
- Clear definitions of racism, anti-racism, structural racial inequality, institutional and systemic racism, and adultification, ensuring a shared understanding across agencies.
- Standards for leaders and practitioners, including the need to model anti-racist behaviours, address barriers, and ensure accountability at all levels.
- Practice guidance for engaging with children and families, including the importance of understanding lived experiences, communicating clearly, and responding robustly to disclosures of racism.
- A focus on learning, impact, and continuous improvement, with mechanisms for feedback, audit, and evaluation to ensure the Charter drives real change.
Call to Action: We invite all partners to read the Charter and actively consider how you and your teams can implement its principles in your daily practice. Your engagement is vital to ensuring the Charter is robust, practical, and meaningful for all those we serve. Together, let’s take decisive action to embed anti-racism at the heart of our safeguarding work and make a tangible difference for children and families across Lambeth.
